MoAlB ceramics are ternary Transition Metal borides with nano-layered structure, which are formed by interlacing the transition metal boride MO-B lattice with single or double layer Al. Because of the special ternary layered structure of MOALB ceramics, it has good electrical and thermal conductivity properties, as well as good self-lubrication, wear resistance and easy processing properties; At room temperature, it has a higher electrical conductivity (2.91×106ω-1m-1), a better thermal conductivity (29.21 WM-1k-1), and a lower thermal expansion coefficient (9.5×10-6k-1). At the same time, as a kind of ceramics, MOALB ceramic has various excellent properties of ceramics, good stability at high temperature, high strength and hardness; The experimental results show that the MoALB ceramics are stable when the temperature is up to 1400℃ in an inert atmosphere. Compared with other transition metal borides, MoALB has a lower Vickers hardness of 9.30±0.44gpa and a bending strength of 456.40±19.12mpa at room temperature. Therefore, MOALB ceramics have a great application prospect, and will be widely used in high temperature structural materials, ceramic reinforcement phase, wear-resistant ceramic coating and other aspects.
